The Rochester Meditation Center

Insight Meditation in Southeast Minnesota

Founded in 2004 and located three blocks from Mayo Clinic, the
center is located in a personal residence that is open to the public to support

local meditators on Thursday evenings, Sunday mornings and by appointment.

                                              6:30 to 7 -- Silent Meditation

                                              7 to 7:30 -- Silent Meditation

                                              7:30 to 8:30 -- Dharma Talk and Discussion

                                  Sunday Morning Reading and Practice

                                              Sundays, 8 to 9:30 a.m.
                                  Morning Meditation

                                              Tuesdays and Fridays, 6:45 to 7:45 a.m. at the Clare

                                              Reflecting Space, Assisi Heights.        

               
The Welcome Room has a library of dharma books available for checkout
and is staffed beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday evenings for those who would
like to come, browse and ask questions.

From 6:30 to 7 p.m. there is a silent sit. Another sit follows from 7 to 7:30, usually silent but sometimes lightly guided. Guests may come for one or both of the half-hour sits and are free to leave at 7 or 7:30 p.m. if they wish. Or they may stay for the dharma talk and
discussion that runs from 7:30 to 8:30 pm.

The center is affiliated with the Common Ground Meditation Center in
Minneapolis, and hosts visiting speakers
on topics relating to meditation,
mindfulness and spiritual practices for everyday life.

Past speakers have included Steve Armstrong, Phillip Moffitt, James Baraz,
Palden Gyatso, Santikaro, Ajahn Punnadhammo, Mark Nunberg,
Bhante Sathi, Henry Emmons and Ajhan Chandako.

Introduction to Meditaiton courses are offered from time

to time; check this web site for information.

An eight-week course on "anapanasati," or mindfulness with breathing
meditation, was taught at the center and is available on audio files here.
